AI programs let estate agents quickly and cheaply stage and enhance listing photos to help buyers visualise a property's potential.

On 8 July 2026 The Guardian reported on 'housefishing', the growing use of AI to enhance estate agent listings with fake dusk skies, added furniture and cleaned-up rooms. Examples included a south London Winkworth listing flagged on Reddit for removing a chimney breast in images, and a Maidenhead house listed at £635,000 where AI-added bedroom furniture could not physically fit.

AlphaGenome analyzes up to 1m letters of DNA to predict how non-coding mutations alter gene regulation across cell types, helping researchers pinpoint genetic drivers of disease and design targeted DNA sequences.

On 28 January 2026, Google DeepMind announced AlphaGenome, an AI model that predicts how mutations in non-coding DNA affect gene regulation. Trained on public human and mouse genetics databases, it can assess up to 1m letters of DNA at once to forecast impacts on gene switching across tissues.

Editing the posted campaign photo with AI increased its brightness.

After Richard Tice posted a photo of an apparent Reform campaign event, critics pointed to five types of artifacts suggesting AI manipulation, including extra fingers, garbled placard text, smeared faces, pixel-perfect railings and geometric concrete, and a floating sign. Reform UK said the underlying photograph is real and that the posted version was slightly edited using AI mainly to increase brightness.

In a Cambridge primary school coding club, a 10-year-old was able to retrain his image classification model after an error, demonstrating practical learning of how machine learning models are corrected.

By the publication date of 2026-01-05, The Guardian described a Cambridge classroom where Joseph, 10, from St Paul's C of E primary school coding club, trained an AI model to discern between drawings of apples and drawings of smiles. The model initially mistakenly identified a fruit as a face, and Joseph then retrained it to get it back on track while friends built their own AIs.

Young graduates may benefit from AI because its transformative power is projected to create unprecedented opportunities and new, more exciting jobs.

On a US podcast before 13 September 2025, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said that if he was graduating today he would feel like the luckiest kid in history, arguing that ChatGPT, released in November 2022, shows AI's transformative power. He acknowledged that job displacement will occur but said this always happens.
