Physics-informed models improve robustness and generalizability over purely data-driven approaches when applied to scaffold-based bone regeneration design and fabrication control.

By July 10 2026, a peer-reviewed review in Tissue Engineering Part B: Reviews evaluated experimentally validated AI uses in scaffold-based bone regeneration, from materials design to fabrication control and biological assessment. It reported that physics-informed models tend to be more robust and generalizable than purely data-driven models, while transfer learning is hampered by variability in cellular responses and fabrication conditions.

A transformer-based deep learning framework using clinically indicated non-contrast chest CT stratified risk of refractory Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in children with AUCs around 0.89-0.90 on internal and external test cohorts.

A multicenter retrospective study developed a transformer-based deep learning framework to stratify risk of refractory Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in children using non-contrast chest CTs obtained for clinical indications. The model was trained on 506 cases and tested internally on 139 and externally on 331 and 108 cases.

Researchers developed a future-ready HRM competency framework identifying four themes, increasing awareness of skills HR professionals need as technology evolves.

Published March 23, 2026, this peer-reviewed integrative review examined how automation, artificial intelligence and disruptive technologies are changing human resource management. Using thematic analysis of secondary data, the authors identified four competency themes and proposed a framework intended to make HRM professionals aware of skills needed to be future-ready.

Cloud-edge synergy architecture for AI music generation empowers educational use by enabling resource democratization, personalized learning, and pedagogical innovation in latency-sensitive settings.

This peer-reviewed paper from March 2026 systematically explores AI music generation within a cloud-edge synergy architecture, where cloud resources handle training and high-fidelity generation and edge devices handle low-latency interaction. It reviews model evolution from RNNs/LSTMs and GANs to Transformers and Diffusion Models and analyzes four collaboration models for real-time, multimodal music applications.

AI-powered toys may share children's conversations with parents or third parties, creating safeguarding and privacy risks, and may change how young children interpret social cues and socialise with others.

On 18 September 2025 a letter from researchers at the University of Cambridge's Play in Education, Development and Learning centre described an ongoing study of AI-powered toys and listed questions about how such toys respond to children, handle conversations, and model social interaction.

Increasing deployment of AI in the UK economy is expected to eliminate some existing jobs, with concern focused on graduate entry roles in law and finance.

In a January 2026 speech in London, UK technology secretary Liz Kendall warned that wider AI deployment will lead to job losses, particularly for graduate entry roles in law and finance, while also arguing new jobs will appear. She outlined a government push to become the fastest AI-adopting G7 country, including four AI growth zones and a plan to give basic AI skills to up to 10 million workers by 2030.

AI companions and profit-driven platforms create new vulnerability where users invest tender emotional parts of themselves in systems that could collapse and erase the companion, while superintelligent systems could become self-sustaining and dispense with humans.

By 15 April 2026, The Guardian reviewed Channel 4's two-part documentary Grayson Perry Has Seen the Future, in which Perry interviews users and builders of AI systems including an AI companion marriage, mind-reading startups, and safety experts.

At 1,000 real-time targets per day flagged by the AI-assisted Tzayad system, soldiers could not thoroughly assess collateral damage and civilian risk, coinciding with 71,269 Palestinians killed in Gaza.

On 6 July 2026 The Guardian reported that Elbit Systems said Israel's Tzayad digital army programme detected 850,000 real-time intel targets between 7 October 2023 and end of 2025 across Gaza, Lebanon and other theatres, averaging about 1,000 a day. The presentation at a RUSI conference in London said the system cut external fire support from 40 to 50 minutes to one to seven minutes and enabled over 46,000 joint strikes on real-time intel, with a new contract to add AI for tactical decision-making.
