Capacity, Collaboration, and Thematic Structure in Health AI Research Over the Past Decade in the Gulf Cooperation Council: Scientometric Analysis
Background Health AI investment is accelerating across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), yet the region's health AI research output has never been systematically quantified. National research capacity is a structural precondition for the safe local development and governance of clinical AI, but no scientometric baseline exists for the 6 GCC states. Objective We characterized the volume, growth, collaboration structure, and thematic composition of GCC health AI research and examined whether national output alig…
Health AI publications affiliated with GCC states rose from 18 in 2011 to 904 in 2024, building research capacity that is linked to informatics readiness.
The study is an ecological scientometric analysis, so correlations with readiness indices are associations at the national level, and it covers only 6 countries and publications through 2024.

How to verify without trusting this page
Fetch the canonical text of any version from /api/record/TRV-2026-2238 and hash it yourself — for example shasum -a 256 on the saved canonical field. The result must equal content_hash, and each version’s text ends with prev:followed by the prior version’s hash (version 1 chains to 64 zeros). If a single character of any version had been altered since certification, the chain would not reproduce.
