Despite advances in AI research for healthcare, deployment in clinical practice has remained limited. To address this, the FUTURE-AI Consortium developed an international consensus guideline published February 5, 2025, defining six guiding principles and 30 best practices for trustworthy and deployable AI tools.
The framework matters because it moves beyond technical performance to include clinical, socioethical, and legal requirements across the entire AI lifecycle.
