Investigating the Impact of AI-Facilitated Socratic Dialogue on Critical Thinking Skills
This mixed-method study aims to explore the impact of having Socratic dialogue with artificial intelligence (AI) on students' critical thinking skills’ performance. The data were gathered from 35 foundation-level students. The study utilised a Watson Glaser critical thinking pre-test and post-test to measure their critical thinking abilities and a questionnaire to gather their perception of AI usage. During the intervention, students were engaged in structured AI-facilitated Socratic questioning sessions weekly.…
After weekly AI-facilitated Socratic questioning sessions, 35 foundation-level students showed no statistically significant pre- to post-test change in critical thinking, even though they viewed AI use positively.
The evidence comes from a small sample of 35 foundation-level students, so the finding that scores did not improve may not generalize to other populations or intervention designs.

How to verify without trusting this page
Fetch the canonical text of any version from /api/record/TRV-2026-1836 and hash it yourself — for example shasum -a 256 on the saved canonical field. The result must equal content_hash, and each version’s text ends with prev:followed by the prior version’s hash (version 1 chains to 64 zeros). If a single character of any version had been altered since certification, the chain would not reproduce.
